One of Winnie's greatest strength is in cooking - she can cook a huge repertoire of dishes and her food is of restaurant quality. On the first day, she asked me what I like to eat (and I am quite fussy with food) - she was able to accommodate to my preferences. She told me to go ahead and buy ingredients that I like and she'd cook with whatever that's in the fridge.

She is extremely proactive when it comes to cooking, she made muffins for my daughter's breakfast when I didn't ask her to. My daughter loves her muffins and Winnie continuously made her different variations of the muffins. Winnie also made different snacks like ondeh ondeh (the best!), ang ku kueh and curry puffs just to name a few.

While I didn't plan to have a full month party, Winnie encouraged me to organise one to celebrate with our family for the memories. She offered to cook for the entire party and told me to just let her know how many people were attending. She came up with the menu and whipped up over 15 dishes. My relatives were very impressed and loved her pig's trotter vinegar.

Winnie cooked primarily for me and occasionally my husband. When she realised that my husband loves spicy food and sambal, she cooked up different types of sambal for my husband and also for my spice loving dad to take home. She also cooked meals for family and friends that came to visit me at home.

Baby Care

You can tell that Winnie genuinely cares for the baby and loves babies. She really treated my baby like her own. All I did was breastfeed my baby and Winnie took care of everything else. For night feeds, Winnie woke me up when baby was hungry and soothed baby back to sleep when I was done. She taught us how to feed baby with a spoon as I didn’t want to introduce a bottle to baby so soon. Winnie was also great with my older daughter, playing with her when I had to feed baby. My daughter loved to jump on her for piggyback rides.

Winnie is very easy going and chatty which helps break the loneliness of doing confinement at home. She did remind me of confinement practices such as not washing your hair everyday but did not nag if you did not listen. She does daily massages for an additional cost and it’s fully worth it just for the lactation massage alone. After getting back from the hospital she helped immediately with lactation massages and because of her consistent lactation massages for the first few weeks I had ZERO engorgement issues with breastfeeding. I fully credit my successful breastfeeding journey to Winnie’s help. She also does belly binding and my tummy was flat in 2 weeks postpartum (amazing since I had a c section!). I could fit into my pre pregnancy clothes by baby’s full month!

Honestly, I don’t know how I would’ve coped without Winnie. Her highly affable personality made it easy for her to integrate into our family, even our helper loved her. I would highly recommend her if you’re looking for a nanny that can do it all - cook, take good care of baby and mummy. She was extremely hardworking and allowed me to have time to rest and recover.
