At MummyNanny, our mission is to empower Mummies with the knowledge to make informed decisions while also celebrating the hardworking Nannies who consistently deliver exceptional care. To achieve this, we've developed a transparent and balanced ranking system based on two main criteria:
1.
|
Truncated Total Evaluation Score |
After each job, Mummies are invited to evaluate their Nanny's service across three areas: Cooking (5 points max) Baby Care (5 points max) Mummy Care (5 points max) This gives a maximum of 15 points per job. To ensure fairness and reflect consistent quality, we calculate a Truncated Total Evaluation Score by summing the Nanny's 6 highest evaluation scores within the calendar year. |
|
YEAR 2024
84
Average Evaluation Score:
13.4
If a Nanny receives scores of 15, 13, 15, 13, 11, 13, 15, and 12 across 8 jobs in one year, her Truncated Total Evaluation Score is 84 (sum of the top 6). |
|
This approach: Rewards Nannies who stay active throughout the year Encourages consistent, high-quality service Reflects input from multiple Mummies (not just one or two) Gives room for improvement, without punishing early learning or one-off mistakes We intentionally moved away from using Average Scores only, as Mummies expressed difficulty trusting rankings based on a small number of high-rated jobs. This method helps build confidence through demonstrated, ongoing excellence. |
|
2.
|
Profile Strength |
We also evaluate the completeness and credibility of a Nanny's profile. A strong profile helps Mummies better understand who the Nanny is and what they can expect. We assess the following elements: Personal introduction and languages spoken Personal photos for connection and trust Annual job statistics Preferred and past job locations Sleeping preferences Types of food prepared Job packages offered Payment structure Best qualities Unique username for easy recognition Each completed item earns 1 point. These are normalized to a maximum of 15 points for Profile Strength. A high Profile Strength score indicates an informative, trustworthy, and up-to-date profile, making it easier for Mummies to compare options and choose with confidence. |
We tested several ranking approaches, including one based solely on Average Evaluation Score. This would highlight Nannies who only took on a few jobs but earned perfect ratings. For example, a Nanny who completed just one job lasting several months and received a perfect 15-point evaluation would appear at the top of the rankings under this method.
While it sounds fair, this method had drawbacks:
Mummies found it misleading and did not reflect a Nanny's overall performance—how can you trust a profile with only one or a few high-scoring evaluations?
Nannies felt it unfairly favored those who completed fewer jobs per year, rather than those who served many families consistently and reliably.
Based on this feedback, we refined our system to recognize both performance and professionalism over time. We also considered job duration. While some Nannies may take longer jobs, the average confinement job on our platform lasts about 28 days. Since most Nannies can take up to 6–8 jobs per year (with a 14-day break between each), our truncation method (top 6 scores) provides a fair reflection of their work.
Our rankings are based on:
Truncated Total Evaluation Score. Reflects performance across multiple jobs and feedback from different Mummies.
Profile Strength. Reflects transparency, credibility, and effort put into presenting a trustworthy profile.
This dual-metric approach strikes a fair balance—giving Mummies the information they need, and giving Nannies credit for consistent, reliable, and quality care. We are always evolving, and this system will continue to improve with feedback from our community.
