In most cases, Mummies who disagree with such terms are unable to get a refund or find a replacement Nanny. As a result, they are forced to cope with the new demands and changes. On such occasions, some Nannies turned off their mobile phones leaving the Mummies worried and stranded. The Mummies also reported cases of scams, whereby someone posing as a freelance Confinement Nanny or representative of an Agency takes the down payment and disappears.

MummyNanny addresses this issue by allowing Mummies to make down payments through the platform instead of directly paying to the Nanny. This way, the Nanny receives the down payment only after the Mummy confirms her arrival. The Mummy gets refunded if the Nanny fails to turn up as agreed. Mummies can select their key criteria from a list and only the qualified Nannies will be displayed. These requirements can be further adjusted to get a desirable balance.

If you are unable to proceed with the job as agreed, quickly contact the Mummy and request for a cancellation before the start date. In this event, Mummies will be required to complete their part of the Portfolio and then request to be reimbursed the refundable part of their Down Payment (the refundable part of a Down Payment is the remainder after deducting MummyNanny's Service Fee). Bear in mind that this may cause Mummies to give negative recommendations in the job Portfolio, so it is not advised to request for a cancellation if it can be helped.

The Nanny also leaves a review about her job experience with the Mummy.

To ensure honest and unbiased evaluations, the Mummy’s feedback remains private and cannot be seen by the Nanny or anyone else until the Job Portfolio is officially published for public viewing.

Over time, a Nanny may accumulate multiple Job Portfolios, one for each completed job, making it easier for future Mummies to assess her skills, reliability, and experience at a glance.

What happens if a Nanny refuses to turn up as agreed?

If a Nanny fails to show up as agreed, it is considered serious misconduct. At MummyNanny, we take this matter very seriously. A no-show will be permanently recorded on the Nanny’s profile, significantly affecting her future job opportunities. This is why Nannies are strongly discouraged from this behavior when their deposit is paid through the platform. Profile Strength reflects how complete, detailed, and credible a Nanny’s profile is. This includes elements like personal introduction, photos, work history, food types prepared, sleep preferences, and verified job portfolios. The more complete and professional a profile is, the higher the score.

Together, these two metrics form a fair and transparent system that helps Mummies compare Nannies and make informed hiring decisions.

How do I request for a refund?
