She will ask what we like to eat and cook the confinement food accordingly. She explains the ingredients role to remove gas or to increase milk supply, as well as remind what foods to avoid. She is good at cooking a huge variety of dishes (refer images).

She may adjust to avoid some of the confinement meal herbs accordingly to reduce heatiness due to baby's jaundice if you breastfeed.

My personal favourite is her nasi lemak, bahkutteh soup, hae bee hiam (spicy shrimp chilli sambal) and yam cake.

Can arrange your usual meal times with nanny so it is easier to work around with your schedule.

She is flexible and willing to cook for additional extended family members and helper as well if necessary.

She is professional and takes good care of baby.

She is happy to teach about the care of baby or answer queries if you have any about the baby.

Right from the date of discharge and baby went home, she has been preemptively trying to increase my child's milk intake and monitor necessary diaper changes to prevent jaundice even when the level on discharge was normal. Subsequent bilirubin level did increase followed by steady drops during the next few clinic appointments. Baby's weight went up 2.3kg to 2.9kg in 2 weeks to 3.4kg in 3 weeks + under her meticulous care. Baby's jaundice also cleared in 3 weeks thanks to her hardwork

She takes note of the baby's feed and diligently titrates up the dose according to the baby. She started right from day 1 when baby was discharged to optimise baby's milk to prevent jaundice rising after d3 of life (which it did). She will record and monitor the diaper changes and feeding times properly. My baby's jaundice has been steadily reducing past few weeks with her help and regular milk feedings.

During night feeds ,.she proactively wakes up to feed baby when she is due for feed so we rarely heard baby crying and we slept very well through the night.

Looking after mummy and Massage: She will constantly remind mothers on what to do, wear and what to watch out for during confinement because she cares for our wellbeing. She will arrange with me the milk feed times so that I can breastfeed and pump while resting sufficiently in between. The routine made breastfeeding a lot easier for me than my first pregnancy. As with all other comments, she comes highly recommended for her daily whole body massages including facial. Although initially hesitant due to my low pain tolerance, I signed up for the additional daily massage package after trying one session. Truthfully, I am glad I engaged her massage sessions. The guasha and cupping on first day (not done everyday) was quite painful but as the days pass, the massages become more comfortable and more relieving. The massages made me feel more alert, energised and calm. Note: we can inform nanny to reduce the strength if the pain is too much and which areas you would like to avoid. This is my second pregnancy, so some of the comments I received from family and friends after few days of the massage was that I looked energetic, much more alert than first pregnancy which I was a lot more tired and lacked energy. Also after getting to know one another better, she provided great companionship , support and friendship as sometimes confinement can be quite lonely :")

she is good at tying children's hairstyles as she has prior experience in hair cutting too. Hehe she offered to help me tie my toddler daughter's hair for her school.

Good tip for mummies to delegate tasks clearly for helper and nanny as well as share your regular meal timings to ensure smooth workflow
