Huge variety of dishes, meals were ready on time and tasted delicious. Portion sizes were massive so I felt nutritionally satisfied especially when I am trying to increase my milk production and recover. Food hygiene could be improved but overall, we are pleased.

I started off triple feeding (breastfeeding, pumping and topping up with formula) from hospital. This continued at home although my goal was to exclusively breastfeed. The nanny took care of the baby at night whilst I pump. We didn't get to experience or learn the night shift routine because she handled the baby 100% at night while I was told to pump. This is the only downside, as it made us anxious how to manage once she leaves. Overall, I would say baby care is 8/10. Mother care is 6/10.

In terms of caring for me, she helped with the basics such as giving me advice on when to wash my hair, set up the herbal bath and told me to rest in the day whilst she handles baby. However, in terms of postpartum belt, she left it up to me to put it on and was more focused on baby's care than mine. There was no massage provided. There were communication issues which made it harder and uncomfortable such as our ask for not using the kitchen sink while we shower because it will affect the water temperature in the shower and to wipe around the sink to prevent water pooling and damaging the wood underneath, but this wasn't heard. As I'm a first time mum, I did felt the bonding time between me and my baby was taken away in the first 2 weeks as she handled the baby 90% of the time and I wasn't expecting to hand over my baby to her like that so this, affected me mentally for a while but I pushed to cuddle and hold my baby as much as I could and eventually, I started to feel better.

She takes care of the baby well, so that is one thing I didn't have to worry about however in terms of working with mum to help improve bonding time, providing breastfeeding advice, and postpartum care for mum could be improved.

In terms of food, schedule of the day, she managed those really well. I didn't have to meal plan so it allowed me to focus on rest. She was reliable to do the necessary task and if there's any food I wanted to eat, she was able to make it or give advice if it helps with recovery or not.

There were times where she would be on her phone to interview other future clients but she informed me beforehand so I could plan this as part of my day. Lastly, in terms of dad's involvement, the nanny was able to communicate with him but dealt with me most of the time. He felt like he couldn't be involved in my confinement as much as he hoped because either the nanny will take care of the baby and he wouldn't have time to bond, or the nanny would have minimal conversation with him so he felt left out when she was here. I am not sure if this is due to traditional standards but we were expecting to learn and work collaboratively with our nanny to have a great set up before she leaves but this wasn't fully achieved.
