Very good cooking skills. Able to whip up dishes quickly, ensuring there is time for baby care. She also ensures there is a constant supply of red date tea. She is also well-versed in the types of herbs to use depending on the requirements of mommy, making sure that the "lighter" soups are served first after a c-sec delivery, or to refrain from drinking certain soups which encouraged the shedding of blood during the first week. Josephine also takes note of our preferences and cooks based on our liking. She is not calculative and always offer to cook for parents and extended family who come by to visit.

Josephine has extensive experience in taking care of babies. At the start, she cleaned the umbilical cord thoroughly and polyclinic nurses commented that it was the "cleanest" they have seen (her cleaning method is slightly different from what the hospital taught). She is also very apt at soothing baby, often being able to calm baby when both parents (and my parents) are unable to. She is also cognizant of hygiene, always changing top (or use muslin cloth) before carrying baby after cooking - when baby is fussing non-stop. She is also very willing to teach parents how to care for baby and gives advice. Although she has her ways of caring for baby, she also listens to parents if they have a preferred way of caring for baby. She exercises her judgment and puts baby's welfare at the forefront, and will not hesitate to speak up if the parents are not caring for baby adequately (before any issues arise). For example, she advised that we need to consider topping up with formula milk if mommy does not have enough breastmilk, and will always offer bottle feeding when baby seems to be unsatisfied after latching.
