She is accommodating. As a family, there may be certain things that you may wish to be done in a certain way. Communicate those with Auntie Lay Hong nicely, and she will get it done. For instance, we asked whether it was possible for her to wash our baby clothes by hand, and she has done it daily without complaint. Another example is that we asked whether it was possible for her to cook the husband’s dinner – again, no complaints and she will get it done. A final example is that we initially wanted the baby to latch for nightly feeds, and she dutifully will bring in the baby to the mother’s bedroom without complaints. We had read horror stories of parents with other nannies who were less flexible, so Auntie Lay Hong’s accommodating nature was a standout quality for us. She does not impose. Speaking of Auntie Lay Hong’s flexibility, she does not impose her ways upon us. We read horror stories where certain nannies may insist on their ways. Auntie Lay Hong did none of those things. Of course, being a nanny with almost a decade of experience and four sons of her own, she has a wealth of wisdom which she is really willing to share. For instance, we were very concerned when our baby exhibited red spots on her face, and she patiently explained that those were just heat rashes common to every baby. She presents a sense of security in the wisdom that she possesses.
