Nanny takes pride in looking after baby. She cleans baby well, talks/sings to baby when he is awake. Baby is very comfortable with nanny and always looks at her with such affection in his eyes.
Nanny prepares specific food items as appropriate. For instance, she will prepare green papaya soup only when my body is ready for it and not any earlier so that it does not clog up my milk ducts unnecessarily. This is much appreciated.
It has been a pleasure working with Aunty Xiu Ying this past month. She cooked nice meals for both my husband and I and prepares the necessary confinement related items for me each day (herbal bath, red date tea, chicken essence, dom etc). She also help with simple household chores (laundry, sweeping, moping, kitchen chores) as I don’t have a helper. During her free time, she engages in video calls with her friends/relative but she will still be mindful of baby.
Even though I have low milk supply, she encourages me to latch baby and tops up with formula milk thereafter. She’s always telling me to rest if I’m not breastfeeding or pumping so that I can recuperate well.
During this period, I can sense the genuine love Aunty Xiu Ying has for babies and my LO has been so well loved and taken care by her. My LO is also very comfortable with her all the time. My husband and I feel at ease knowing my nanny is around.
