Auntie Kim is very knowledgeable on the food mummies should or should not be eating if the baby has jaundice and food booster for breastfeeding etc. As she was with us for 3 months, in the 2nd month when I do not have to stick to the confinement diet anymore, she made a variety of cuisines for us such as thai, viet, malaysian which we enjoyed. Given that she has worked overseas with families of different nationalities, she is able to cook a variety of cuisines.
Her efforts in ensuring that our baby does daily tummy time from week one has helped to develop his motor skills and the daily massages that she gives to him has helped him to relax and sleep better. She maintains a high level of hygiene standards when it comes to the baby which helped in preventing rashes on his body. When she went back for a week, my baby developed heat rash but this quickly resolved within a few days after she came back as she really took the effort in wiping the affected area and applying cream a few times a day. She also tries to engage our baby daily by speaking to him. When he cries, she is able to calm him down quickly. You can tell that she genuinely loves babies and kids.
She constantly reminds mummy to rest more and to let her do the work instead. She also reminds my helper to top up my water constantly as I am breastfeeding. Knowing that the baby is in good hands, I was able to rest and recover pretty quickly.
Recommendation & Experience
Auntie Puipui brings with her a wealth of experience in childcare. Having been trained by an Australian consultant, she is an all rounded nanny who has taken care of newborn to toddlers. As new parents, we started out completely clueless and placed our utmost trust in her. Prior to joining us, she provided recommendations on baby products which she deems effective from her previous experiences and it has worked well so far for our baby. She is willing to listen to any suggestions that you would like her to follow for the baby and open to sharing her experience with you. Through her, we have learnt to understand our baby’s needs and also how to take care of baby (showering, gassy stomach, spit ups, various carrying positions etc).
