Yes, she was recommended by one of the more well-known confinement nannies. Naturally, we assumed that a recommendation from a “popular” nanny meant she would be reliable. Unfortunately, that assumption was completely wrong.

After we terminated Angela Tee’s service, the recommender contacted us to “verify” the situation. Based on the conversation, we strongly suspect that she receives a commission if Angela completes a confinement stint. We clearly fed back Angela’s incompetence and the issues we faced, yet knowing that she continues to recommend Angela is extremely disappointing and irresponsible.

Four months after the termination, Angela suddenly sent me a toxic message demanding an apology. She claimed that terminating her was a “disrespect” to the confinement nanny profession. I did not respond. The reality is that confinement work requires a high level of professionalism, knowledge, and, most importantly, caution when handling a newborn. The potential harm from negligence is very real, as seen in the widely reported case in 2019 involving former actor Joshua Ang’s confinement nanny, where overfeeding led to a serious medical condition.

Based on our experience, I do not believe Angela Tee is fit for this role.
