I thought about it for awhile before I decided to post this.. my little angel is having bad eczema now. It started since he was 2 weeks old. When I asked the nanny (Heow Mun Ling) why he has these red spots everywhere, she said it's normal.
What I didn't know was that how she took care of him caused it to worsen.
She bathed him twice a day, daily and sometimes turned on the aircon. All this while not applying any moisturiser for my LO.
I was already upset that she was making me eat plain spaghetti with heinz sauce and a thin slab of salmon for meals. No vegetables. No other ingredients. I was to cut down on fruits, and when I started having headaches, she advised me to drink coffee (at night!) Our confinement herbs package of 28 days has 5 packs left and she claimed it was because the herbs were for "32 days instead". She fed my baby more than 800ml per day when he was just 2 weeks old and argued with me when I told her that she was overfeeding him as he suffered from bloatedness and regurgitation regularly. She even complained that I had insufficient milk supply when I was already in oversupply.
She really took us for fools and sadly, we trusted her too much.
The "side effect" of this: my little one's natural skin barrier is destroyed. My incision area has an infection and did not heal fully, and I lost 8kg in the 27 days she was with us. She's from a reputable confinement nanny agency so I am beyond disappointed. I am enraged because my little one is suffering from her poor care. My recovery has been so slow no thanks to her.
I just wanna warn other mommies not to take the nanny's word for it as final. If you sense it isn't right, it's better to be safe and consult a professional (PD or GP at least). Please don't be like me and end up letting your little one suffer.
