Gotten a so called senior confinement nanny, C**** from CA a few days ago to do my confinement for me. Apparently she has several good reviews on Google. But the service I have gotten is terrible. Here is a list of her so called good services.
1. Never wipe baby during diaper change. I was informed that only poop need wiping. She also never apply baby bottom balm on him. Now his private parts is red with some rashes. No washing of hands after diaper change and she proceed to feed baby milk.
2. Never wash baby mouth nor did she ask us to provide her with the required tools for washing of baby’s mouth.
3. Never apply lotion to whole of baby’s body after bathing. She only do the neck part after we requested her to use the lotion and my baby’s skin is so very dry.
4. We requested for her to turn on the aircon for baby as he was swaddled and hot. She says okay then after we left she turned off aircon and use the fan at its lowest setting blowing at the wall. This is Singapore and recently the weather is very hot these days.
5. Instead of turning on the air purifier, she use the power to charge her phone and night light (we did provide her with a portable battery operated one).
6. She thawed raw meat directly beside my baby bottles with the bottles facing the raw meat itself (this is the last straw).
7. I was informed by my mother-in-law that she never clean the pots and pans well and my mother-in-law has to rewash them.
8. She precooked pork ribs and freeze them and served them to me for subsequent meals in my soups and tell my mother-in-law not to let me know about this.
9. My mil and I got a stomach upset from yesterday night and I am not sure if it is due to point 8 above.
10. She wash baby’s bottles by adding liquid soap directly to the bottles instead of diluting them in the water and use that to wash the bottles.
Besides the above, there are also some minor issues like placing e red date tea on my dinning table for me to take instead of serving to me in my room so I have to walk in and out of my room each time I finish my drink. Serving me overnight red date tea from yesterdays leftover which I just notice this morning(she was boiling a new pot on the stove and emptying out the old one into my thermos). Never serve me any drink for breakfast and no fruits for lunch and dinner. Not sure if these are under personal preferences though.
My CA liaise, L**** is totally unsympathetic about this issue. And she even suggested that I hear a few issues (which is actually just point 7 and point 8 from my mother-in-law and didn’t see them for myself (please the precooked meat is in my freezer). My husband wasn’t around recently so it is only me and my mother-in-law. I have already tried my best to observe her but seriously I hired her and paid more for a senior nanny to do my confinement and now I am feeling sick(stomach upset and wound aching from standing and observing the nanny) due to all these issues.
All these made me so worried as now the adults are the one suffering from stomach upset due to hygiene lapse of the nanny. But she is also taking care of my newborn and he is only a few days old and can’t afford a stomach upset.
Currently they will be replacing the nanny for us and i will be updating here again about the new replacement.
