Not bf related but my bad experience on a confinement lady!!
Be careful when you hire a confinement lady. I've got a very bad one!
I wanna spend some of my precious time to write about how "GOOD" my confinement lady is until we have to ask her to leave after coming in for only about a week. This lady named Ah Leng, (+60 14 3023 102) or she said people also called her Connie is from Kampar. She is not ethical and she did things blindly. Not only she failed in taking care of me but also the baby.
As a confinement lady, her duty is to make sure mommy have enough rest and baby is well taken care of. When she came to us last Tuesday, her nails are well sharpen! Manicure done with extension... can u imagine how these nails poke into the tiny hands and legs of my baby? My baby always cried during diaper change and during shower. She is so rough when comes to handling the baby. Everytime i see those nails sinking into my girl's tiny hands and legs it really worried me. So, i ask her to cut those nails... and after that she doesn't even want to talk to me. Fine! Everytime she milk the baby, She will put her head so low, so that my girl finish up the milk fast... in results she'll choke or the milk will flow out from the corner of her mouth and wet her clothes. Everytime when the clothes is wet, she dun even bother to change them and will just swaddle the baby again. Even after diaper change, sometimes she will accidentally wet the clothes she will do the same, swaddle her back! When i ask her to change, she gave me that LOOK again. i didnt realize until my girl keeps sneezing... 🙁
At night, during night feeding, she is so lazy to wake up and she keeps delaying her milking time!! Until i have to set alarm myself to wake her up to bring the baby to me for feeding!!! Can u imagine how "GOOD" she is??
Also during shower, she did not clean the baby belly button properly. When we bring her to the Klinik to check, my girl has got bloody and wet belly button!!! Also, after every pee and poo, she didnt clean her properly... when we check its still not clean. How can a confinement lady do this to a few days old baby?
She came to my house like coming in for holiday!! My mom got to help her in most of the work. That includes burping and feeding the baby! When she pass the baby over to us, she'll just drop her in our hands!! Not even passing her nicely to you.
She is so LAZY she will prepare the food so much early for me. My meals are never hot. She ask us to get her so much things and what she makes me for breakfast is always biscuits and bread with cheese from the fridge.. yes FRIDGE!! She will also cook so much rice and gave me those overnight ones. Same goes to the dates water and soup!!! Everything overnight!! The black fungus that she feed me is MOLD... We only get to know when my mom clear the fridge after we ask her to leave yesterday. And she feed me with that everyday!!! Lucky i didnt die! Sigh...... i am glad that she's out of the house now and i've got my aunt here to help. We can all sleep well now. If anyone of u hire her, please think twice. I am consider lucky that she's here for less than a week, If she's here for a month i dunno what my daughter and me will become.
