I will like to share my current experience with this confinement nanny assigned to me by PEM. She started on 7 Feb and for the past few days I realised how ill-trained the nanny is. On the first day, she suggested to us to use bottle feed if baby can't latch on as she doesn't know how to use cup feed. So we went along with her suggestion and after 2-3 feeds, my baby's appetite suddenly shot up from 30ml to 50ml. As I wasn't able to meet her demands, the nanny then insisted that we feed her formula and also recommended that we dilute the formula. Being inexperienced and trusted the better judgement of her, we went along with it. However my baby's demand for milk keeps increasing and she just kept insisting that we should give in to her demands. When i tried to stop that, she would show me a face and talked to my baby that i refused to give her milk. This lasted for 2 days and we went to paediatrician and found out from my paediatrician that diluting milk formula is not right and will cause harm to the baby! How could the nanny be so ignorant and recommend such malpractice?!
Further to that, she was using the bath water (with the soap) to clean my baby's face. I stopped her from doing that and requested that she used cooled boiled water and cotton wool to clean her face. She did that today but to my horror again, she used our regular eating bowl to contain the water!!
I am very displeased with her above irresponsible and ignorant acts and very disappointed with how PEM trains their nannies. If the nanny is inexperienced, pls do not send her to us! It is not for us to train these nannies and be on constant watch of what she did to the baby.
Thankfully i am not dependent on her to serve my needs and her only job is to cook and help to feed(sometimes) change diapers and bathe the baby. Her housekeeping is terrible. She mops the floor without sweeping or clearing away the hair and in the end, the floor still has much hair which is mostly from hers. She only mops the living room and kitchen. I still have to ask her to mop my room.
My confinement so far is nothing but a distress to me and all thanks to her and PEM.
