Just wanted to warn about a confinement nanny to avoid
Dishonest nanny
Name: Woon Lxxx Mxx, goes by the name 珍珍 珍姐
We had engaged her months prior and paid $800 deposit , which to our understanding is quite steep.
We had let her know our delivery date few days in advance as soon as we knew (mine was an induction delivery)
However , she eventually told us she could not turn up for the first day of work. Hence we discharged with no one to help us on the first day. Her excuse to us was that she was not feeling well. When my mother in law spoke to her, she let it slip that she had gone back to hometown for Qing Ming
She also turned up late in the afternoon on the 2nd day.
She also pre empted us many times she might need to go home if she was not feeling well. Also refused to give us her passport details for us to apply work permit for her. We had asked her multiple times even before her arrival , she eventually only agreed on the 3rd day of work….
Subsequently, she only worked for 9.5 days before saying that she needed to return to hometown in Msia for 10 days before she could come back. Her excuse to me was that she needed to see a doctor for gastric issues or swallowing difficulties. We offered for her to see a polyclinic doctor but she declined then changing her excuse to say she needed to see a heart specialist as she was a heart patient. It didn’t explain why she needed 10 days off.
She said her cousin would work for her in her place. Told us to give her half the salary and she will pay her cousin then she will collect the other half when she returns!
She also kept asking us for baby particulars , for our car plate numbers to buy 4D. It did not make us feel comfortable
Subsequently, we managed to find a replacement nanny. On her day of departure , we told her that there is no need for her or her cousin to come.
She then demanded 10 days of salary even though she only really worked 9.5days. Technically she left at 10am.
Even lied to us saying her cousin’s transport could not be cancelled. (This is not true as we are also familiar with the mode of transport they come by)
When our new nanny arrived, we also found that this 珍姐 was not as meticulous.
Would only shower the baby once a day, also gave our baby a diaper rash just in 2 days of her arriving
Also she even went to buy a pacifier on her own although we told her that we were very against it!
Worst of all, she even poked a hole in the avent natural response slow flow bottle teats without letting us know. This was made known to us by the new nanny after she observed how the bottle teat was leaking
