I almost got conned by YONG NYUK LIN today! She said her name is Ah Lin Jie. She agreed to all terms I’ve mentioned which is to be my stay in babysitter and will help with whatever housework I need to keep the house clean and tidy. The first phone call she called me spoke about 35 minutes.
Very good in negotiation and soft skills. Told me she previously worked 3 years with a China family. But they’re going back to China. So she’s looking for new job. Yes, she says she is from sabah. Her kids are already in 30s bla bla maybe nothing is true I don’t know. She can give me many examples of how she’s a good nanny and cleaner. She said she also worked 15 years as confinement lady and she’s very honest and her fees are reasonable not like now a lot of inexperienced fake confinement lady bla bla bla. She follow up closely with me on when she can start work. Call me twice a day and follow up with WhatsApp voice messages. She said she is a responsible person. Hence she like to do things quickly. Told me she need job urgently cuz her MUM is in old folks home and need to pay RM2,000 a month as expenses. (Just saw the blog post saying her mum and dad passed away in 2011???) how many years have she been cheating? 🤯
I googled her phone number, couldn’t find anything at all. Now seeing the blog post, looks like she changed her phone number.
She say she stays in Cheras Ulik. Today when I called her back to offer her the job, she agreed to covid test, I suggested I’ll pay half her cost. She said OK “aiya cincai la. Ok la” immediately ..
And she sounded like she’s outside very noisy background. So she said she’s visiting her mum in the Old Folks Home and will call me back later.
I said ok. When she called me back few hours later. She asked for RM300 as she is tight and needed money. I asked what is the RM300 for? She did not mention it’s deposit nor for the covid test. She just said “cuz I’m very tight. I need money urgently. Please help me”.
So I asked her to WhatsApp me her banking details and IC number. And I called to seek my husband’s advise. My husband said ask her to meet up at anywhere convenient to her tomorrow or this week first.
So when I told her this, she didn’t reply me for hoursss. Not as aggressive as last time keep follow up with me.
Later at night she apologised for late reply saying the last few hours she’s been very busy running around cuz her mum is HOSPITALIZED. The old folks home informed her just as she got home and she’s feeling very stressed and frustrated. Asked me to give her some “time and space”.
Asked her which hospital her mum is at, she said “near cheras ktm”. I wished her well and take care as now covid is on the rise and needs to go in and out of hospital it’s dangerous. She said what to do, that’s her mum..etc and sounded sad and frustrated.
She also sent me a self portrait of her.
Oh ya when she send me her IC number.. it was one digit less. So I told her the payment will not go through if the IC number is wrong (just to test her) then she said she left out a number 3. Ask me to add it in. Now i see the police report from Fiona Cham, the lady was 55 years old in 2011. But she told me she’s 60 years old now!
So I guess she chose to give up in conning me when I told her if IC number is wrong, the online transaction will not go through.
